Data Engineer

Our Dublin based client is looking for a Data Engineer to join their team on a daily rate contract basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ETL architecture and BI solution development. This role involves designing, constructing, installing, testing, and maintaining highly scalable data management systems, ensuring optimal ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and developing BI solutions to enhance business decision-making.

Job Description:

• Design and implement robust ETL pipelines to integrate data from multiple sources into a unified data warehouse or data lake, ensuring data quality and accessibility.
• Develop and optimise data architecture to support Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and analytics platforms.
• Collaborate with business analysts and data scientists to identify business needs and translate them into technical specifications for BI reports and dashboards.
• Monitor and maintain database performance by conducting regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new data management technologies and software engineering tools.
• Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
• Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.

Experience required:

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Database Developer, or similar role with a strong focus on ETL processes and BI solution development.
• Expertise in SQL database design and multiple scripting languages (e.g., Python).
• Experience with ETL tools
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques.
• Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and understanding of serverless architectures.
