Senior Cisco Engineer (Contract - 6 Months, Dublin City Centre)

Job Description:

Our client, a leading organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Cisco Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will be Cisco Certified with strong expertise in Cisco SD-WAN, core networking, and network architecture.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage Cisco SD-WAN solutions.
• Maintain and optimise core network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Support network architecture design, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and security.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide resolutions in a timely manner.
• Work closely with IT teams to integrate and enhance network services.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers on network solutions.

Experience Required:

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in networking roles.
• Strong expertise in Cisco SD-WAN and core networking.
• Hands-on experience with routing, switching, and firewall security.
• Proven ability to design and implement network architecture.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues.

Desirable Skills:

• Exposure to cloud networking (AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with automation and scripting for network management.
• Experience with load balancers and VPN technologies.
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools.

Educational Requirements:

• Cisco Certification (CCNP/CCIE) is essential.
• A degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field is desirable.
