Job Title: Technical Business Project Manager (Contract)
Duration: 9 Months (initial, with potential extension)
About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Business Project Manager for an exciting 9-month daily rate contract. This is a hands-on delivery-focused role requiring a strong blend of technical knowledge, business process understanding, and project management expertise. You will be responsible for leading and delivering cross-functional initiatives end-to-end, liaising with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of complex projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and budget.
- Act as a bridge between IT and business units, translating technical requirements into business outcomes and vice versa.
- Own project planning, resource management, risk/issue tracking, and stakeholder communication.
- Work with developers, solution architects, business analysts, and testers to ensure successful implementation.
- Coordinate multiple workstreams across functional and technical areas.
- Manage third-party vendors and ensure deliverables are met.
- Conduct regular project reporting and status updates to senior leadership.
- Support change management and user adoption across the business.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years of Project Management experience, ideally within technical or digital transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, software development lifecycles, and infrastructure.
- Experience delivering in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Proven ability to work closely with technical teams (e.g., developers, QA, DevOps).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including C-level reporting.
- Hands-on approach – must be comfortable diving into the detail and leading from the front.
- Previous experience working with cross-functional teams and complex system integrations.
- Ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and vendor relationships.
Desirable:
- Background in software delivery, systems implementation, or infrastructure projects.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or similar.
