Java Engineer - Contract

Job Title: Java Software Engineer
Location: Remote
Rate: £510-550/day - Outside IR35
Length: Contract - Initial 3 months with potential extension

We are seeking a skilled Java Software Engineer to build, deploy, and maintain new features on an innovative platform using a containerised microservices architecture. The successful candidate will also be responsible for extending DevOps practices to ensure a scalable, high-availability production web application. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively within a growing engineering team and solve complex software challenges using the latest technologies.

Java Software Engineer Requirements:

Must have:

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot-based applications.
• Experience with containerised applications in Kubernetes and serverless AWS technologies.
• Strong understanding of DevOps culture, practices, and tools.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful web services.
• Familiarity with application performance monitoring tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Experience working within agile methodologies.

Preferred:

• Experience with React and frontend development.
• Mentoring experience, providing technical support to team members.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform).
• Strong database and query performance skills.
